Easy Refashioned Valentine’s Jewelry

2 Feb

Happy February! Here’s some easy-to-refashion Valentine’s Day Jewelry–

I inherited 6 Avon tie-tac pins with dangly hearts from one of the jewelry bonanzas I received last month. First, I removed the little red hearts from the tacky cherubs. I did save the cherubs to use later.

Then I cut two pieces of silver chain of about 1.25 inches, and attached the little hearts to pierced ear posts in a cascading pattern. Voila!

And on the ears of my daughter:

Next, I found a charm bracelet that did nothing for me in that same jewelry bonanza–

See the silver heart in the upper left of the bracelet? I removed it, setting aside the charms and chain for something else. Next, I rooted through a box of chains–

to find one that went with the silver heart. I found a chain with a clasp already on it, cut the chain in half, and then attached the heart with jump rings. Then I was able to adjust the chain to my daughter’s neck by fitting it on her and taking out about one inch.

She is leaving in several days for a college semester in The Netherlands. I wove my heart’s blessings into these simple pieces that will fly with her over the Atlantic.

That´s beautiful! I particularly like those earrings. And I hope she has a good stay in Holland.

Thank you, all! When she left, I started to craft another piece of jewelry with a blue ceramic heart…yes, feeling a little blue, but happy for her!
