Can you believe we wore these things 20 years ago?!?! And now they are considered vintage. I keep the 1980′s earrings from junk jewelry lots (normally used to refashion jewelry) because they are HILARIOUS! All that’s missing is the poofy hair. They are displayed in my craft area because I crack up every time I see them.
By the way, I had fun taking these pictures by using pages from the New York Times Magazine as backdrop.

Those earrings are the reason Jane Fonda’s ear lobes are four inches long.
Haha!!!
Glad to say I never wore them!!!
My niece has been wearing similar styles for the last five years, so they look perfectly modern to me. Personally, I miss the poofy hair. And in 1979-80, the dominant trend among girls 14ish or so, was to wear one or two long chains in one ear, on which ends were fastened feathers or what we believed to be stylized marijuana leaves. Very cool.
